In 2002, Ray Adams OAM, a member of the Rotary Club of Emerald and District began a student sponsorship program.
Two Rotary clubs in Victoria Australia have been supporting the school over many years. tenderfootrotary.org.au
The Tenderfoot self help school began with 8 street children being fed, clothed and taught in a corrugated iron shack.
